May 29, 2010 - We would like to thank Sensei John Kalaidopoulos of the West Island Karate dojo for welcoming us to the 2010 edition of the Matsushima Championships. A large number of participants from several Quebec karate schools gathered in Kirkland to take part in this very popular annual karate tournament.
Once more, our Montreal Kanreikai junior team was well prepared and realized very good performances in kata and semi-knockdown fighting events. |

Marcus Wilhelm: 2nd in kata
Nada Belfedhal: 4th in kata
Nicky da Costa: 1st in kata
Mikhael Gouterman: 1st in fighting
Nicola Marcovecchio-Briand: 2nd in fighting
Gabrielle Cayouette: 2nd in kata; 2nd in fighting
Catherine Villeneuve: 3rd in kata
Charlotte Bate: 1st in kata
A special mention goes to Raphaël Ishtak and Audrey-Rose Charlebois who also did very well at these Championships.
